In 2017, Raf Simons arrived at 205 West 39th Street in New York City, the address of Calvin Klein's headquarter where he was appointed to be the new Chief Creative Officer within the brand. This not only meant that he was responsible for rebranding Calvin's High Fashion Line from CK Collection to Calvin Klein 205W39NYC, he also applied his genius to the more affordable clothing of Calvin Klein and had creative control over every creative process from store design to marketing campaigns. His first runway show for FW17 was critically acclaimed and combined Raf's signature aesthetic with Calvin Klein's classic Americana. The cowboy boots he introduced quickly became a favorite inside the fashion world and remain some of the best footwear created in recent designer history. His following 205 collections also introduced some of his best work to date while the more affordable est. 1978 line brought out more accessible yet almost equally as beautiful & high quality pieces. Unfortunately just after 4 seasons it was reported that Raf would leave the brand due to financial performance and his unwillingness to compromise his art in order to appeal to a wider audience.
