Backyardarchive was founded in 2019 in Vienna Austria. We focus on timeless Garments—often one-of-a-kind, such as samples and runway prototypes. Over the years, we have built a global network of brands, boutiques, and private sellers, allowing us to source the finest pieces from designers such as Haider Ackermann, Miuccia Prada, Raf Simons, Hedi Slimane, and more.

Our carefully curated portfolio includes designer clothing, shoes, and accessories—ranging from iconic grail pieces that have shaped fashion history to everyday essentials at accessible price points. We provide a trustworthy source for sought-after garments while ensuring fair and reasonable pricing. 

At our core, we are a business, but nearly all our profits go straight back into expanding our collection. Our ultimate goal? To build one of the world’s most significant designer archives and establish Vienna as a key destination in modern fashion.

While our main focus is selling handpicked pieces, we also offer a consignment service for items that align with our collection and provide rental options for select pieces.

In 2023, we relocated to our new headquarters in Vienna’s beautiful 8th district, where we manage all operations. For the first time, we also opened an appointment-only showroom, welcoming the public to explore our collection in person.

Our showroom operates on an appointment-only basis—not to create an air of exclusivity, but to offer our visitors a truly personal experience. We want to provide a relaxed and intimate setting where you can explore our collection at your own pace, away from distractions. This approach allows us to give each guest our full attention, offering insights into the craftsmanship, history, and uniqueness of the pieces we curate.
