The Piece

This incredibly rare bomber jacket from Haider Ackermann was part of the SS19 collection and brings back some very familiar elements. It references the chevron bomber jacket from Haiders’s SS15, one of his most iconic and demanded pieces to date. I features the same chevron pattern in a light blue / turquoise color, that is very similar to the blue color that Haider used for his SS15 chevron pants and shirt. While this piece comes in the iconic fabric from SS15 the cut reminds more of the FW15 Perth Bomber with a boxy cut, cropped length and the signature ruched sleeves. As there was a limited amount of the fabric available there were less than 10 pieces of this jacket produced making it one of the rarest Haider Bombers of all time.

- Less than 10 pieces were produces
- Iconic chevron fabric
- Oversized slouchy fit
- Front zipper pocket
- Purple detailing at the cuffs

Collection

Spring/Summer 2019 marked Haider Ackermann's first collection following his influential tenure at Maison Berluti. His time at Berluti left a lasting imprint on his own label, which became evident in the SS19 collection. Notably, this was the first time Ackermann showcased both his women’s and men’s collections together in a single show, offering a unified vision that highlighted his evolving aesthetic.
This season, Ackermann shifted focus toward a more refined and sharply tailored silhouette, setting a new direction for his brand. Moving away from his typical emphasis on accessories, he honed in on clean lines and structured forms, creating an overall aesthetic that felt precise and sophisticated. The collection’s key themes—minimalism and tailoring—were underscored by meticulously crafted pieces that celebrated Ackermann’s commitment to luxury and detail.
Highlights of the show included intricate laser-cut details and striking jacquard fabrics, which brought depth and texture to his minimalist designs. The attention to detail in these elements showcased Ackermann's skill in combining technical innovation with timeless elegance. The use of jacquard and laser-cutting added a delicate complexity that contrasted beautifully with the collection’s sharper lines and pared-back style.
