Hedi Slimane’s Spring Summer 2014 Collection for Saint Laurent was a fundamental show for his time at SLP. The „Teddy Boys“ look stems from a youth-protest movement from the 50s and was referenced by Slimane in the best way possible - it was the look that later on defined his signature for the following years and showed just how intensely Slimane implemented his teenage dreams into his version of Saint Laurent.

The Spring/Summer 2014 menswear collection by Hedi Slimane captured the energy of glam rock and the attitude of youth culture. Presented in a stage-like setting with flashing lights and a pulsing soundtrack, the show reflected Slimane’s fascination with performance and music.

Sequins, metallic fabrics and bold patterns defined the season. Gold jackets, zebra print trousers and checkerboard bikers appeared alongside slim tailoring and polished accessories. Details such as silk blousons, mirrored sunglasses and bandanas added contrast between formality and rebellion.

Slimane cast musicians and emerging faces to express his idea of authenticity and individuality. SS14 stood out as a statement of identity and presence, merging elegance with a raw sense of stage energy that became a signature of his Saint Laurent era.
