The Piece

These 11-eye combat boots from the Hedi era FW14 blend rugged utility with a rock-inflected silhouette. Crafted in black leather, their tall shaft and ample eyelets lend an uncompromising presence.

Heavy stitching reinforces the upper, while a robust sole grounds the design in function. The shape is muscular without being heeled, holding form while offering a powerful line. As a rare piece from the Hedi period, these boots carry an archival weight that speaks to their era of elevated utility.

Collection

The Fall Winter 2014 menswear collection by Hedi Slimane presented a refined interpretation of Saint Laurent’s rock aesthetic. The season combined classic tailoring with a sense of rebellious glamour, highlighting the tension between precision and attitude that defined Slimane’s vision for the house.

Outerwear played a central role. Long tweed coats, mohair checks, metallic herringbone fabrics and animal patterns appeared alongside sharp leather blazers and embroidered bombers. The palette mixed deep black and grey with flashes of red, gold and metallic green. Details such as narrow ties, patterned scarves and polished boots added structure to the otherwise fluid silhouettes.

FW14 stood out for its focus on texture and proportion, merging British tailoring references with an unmistakable sense of contemporary youth culture. It captured a moment where elegance and edge coexisted in perfect balance.
