Saint Laurent's Fall/Winter 2018 menswear collection showcased Anthony Vaccarello's mastery of dark, luxurious minimalism through a palette dominated by black. The lineup included velvet tailoring with textured finishes, leather outerwear from the seventies, and pieces accented with metallic threading and sparkle. Among the standout styling choices were shaggy fur boots and matching hats that evoked eighties rock star hair, paired with extremely slim-cut trousers.

Vaccarello drew from Yves Saint Laurent's archive, specifically the designer's Russian-inspired work, but filtered it through a contemporary Parisian lens, paying homage to iconic house figures like Loulou de la Falaise and Betty Catroux. The designer's approach emphasized subtle layering of tonal blacks, where luxurious details remained almost hidden, creating an aesthetic of understated opulence.
