Haider Ackermann’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection for Berluti marked his debut as creative director for the house. He brought garments that merged the sensibility of his own label with the artisanal legacy of Berluti. Velvet suits, mohair overcoats, leather vests and soft tailoring shared space in a refined palette of camel black raspberry and deep blue.

Ackermann emphasized texture and structure rather than ornament. He used diagonal seamwork, patch construction and contrasts of surface to guide the eye. In doing so he hinted at his personal design language while shaping a clear identity for the new Berluti man.
