The Piece

Hedi Slimane's take on the cowboy boot remains one of the most compelling silhouettes from his time at Saint Laurent. Built on the iconic Wyatt shape with a 4cm heel, the design carries the sharp, precise quality characteristic of his footwear. This version features an elongated shaft in comparison to the classic Wyatt Harness Boot, finished with loops on either side for easy wear.

The upper is crafted from a nappy nut suede with a texture richer and more tactile than standard suede, a material that develops character with every wear. Produced only across select seasons, this silhouette remains among the rarer boots from Hedi's tenure at Saint Laurent Paris especially in brand new condition like this pair.

Collection

The Fall/Winter 2014 menswear collection by Hedi Slimane presented a refined interpretation of Saint Laurent’s rock aesthetic. The season combined classic tailoring with a sense of rebellious glamour, highlighting the tension between precision and attitude that defined Slimane’s vision for the house.

Outerwear played a central role. Long tweed coats, mohair checks, metallic herringbone fabrics and animal patterns appeared alongside sharp leather blazers and embroidered bombers. The palette mixed deep black and grey with flashes of red, gold and metallic green. Details such as narrow ties, patterned scarves and polished boots added structure to the otherwise fluid silhouettes.

FW14 stood out for its focus on texture and proportion, merging British tailoring references with an unmistakable sense of contemporary youth culture. It captured a moment where elegance and edge coexisted in perfect balance.
